Ball Safe

-Objective:

Heading 1

To avoid being tagged by the It

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor

    • Run​

  • Manipulative Send​

    • Roll​

-Equipment List:

  • Two stability balls and one pool noodle per 10 players

-Equipment Link:

-Setting Up:

  • Players are in a scattered position.

  • There is one It per 10 players and each of the Its has a pool noodle to tag the other players with.

  • Scatter the stability balls around the playing area.

-Instructions:

  • On the leader’s signal to begin players run around trying to avoid being tagged by the Its.

  • One way to be safe is to be in contact with a stability ball. Players can help each other by rolling or tossing a ball to a player in danger of being tagged.

  • When a second player touches the ball the first player must let go of the ball.

  • When a player is tagged he does jumping jacks at one spot till another player can roll the ball towards the tagged players; the tagged player can resume normal play again.
