For a pair of players to carry a stability ball across a room without dropping it and without using their arms or hands

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor

    • Balance​

-Equipment List:

  • One stability ball per pair of players

-Equipment Link:

-Setting Up:

  • Paired players stand at one wall.

  • Each pair has a stability ball.

-Instructions:

  • Players think of and count each unique way they can carry a ball between them without using their arms or hands (hands and arms can be used initially to get the ball in place).

  • Players must travel from one end of the room to the other, and then explore a different way to cross back.

  • The pair with the highest number of different ways to carry the ball wins the challenge.

-Questions & Notes:

  • To move the activity along, specify a time limit, such as three to five minutes.

  • To increase the activity level, specify that each crossing must take less than 10 seconds.

  • Have players demonstrate their most original carry.
