Front of the class

-Objective:

Heading 1

Players jog past each other, on the team’s right when moving counter-clockwise, to the front of the line until all players are back in their original position.

    • Run​

  • Four pylons

-Setting Up:

  • Define an area for 4 cones or using an existing court (volleyball court, outdoor soccer goal crease) and position players standing behind each other in a single file line.

-Instructions:

  • Group starts a slow jog around the court.

  • The player in the back of the line runs on the outside of the group to the front of the line.

  • When the player makes it to the front the player that is now the last player runs to the front of the line.

  • Continue till everyone is back into their original positions

  • Safety considerations:

    • Players should exercise caution when taking the corners.

  • Instructional tip:

    • The group should not run too quickly as to make it impossible for the back player to make it to the front of the line, nor too slowly to deprive the participants of any exercise benefits.

  • Variations:

    • Front of the Sport Dribble Class

      • Run as with Front of the Class except that all players are dribbling a ball (basketball, soccer.....) or hockey puck.

    • Base Runners

      • Run as with Front of the Class except that all players run around the bases of a baseball diamond.

    • Weaver

      •  Run as with Front of the Class or Front of the Sport Dribble Class except that the player in the back does not run past all his team mates on the side of the line but weaves in and out through the moving line.
