-Instructions:

      • Runs into a defensive player who is not moving or if an offensive player is moving while trying to block a defensive player.

      • Offensive players may also not stay in the key for longer than 3 seconds, dribble the ball, stop, and then dribble again, or move with the ball without dribbling it.

      • For the above fouls or rule infractions the other team takes the ball out on the side near where the infraction occurred and throws it to one of their players on the court.

      • When a ball is on a team’s half they have 15 seconds to get the ball over center.

      • A player with the ball is touched by a defensive player, or when another offensive player is impeded from moving because the defense is holding them.

      • For defensive fouls, the offense takes the ball out on the side where the infraction occurred and passes the ball into one of their players.

      • If a defensive foul occurred when a player was taking a shot the shooter is awarded 2 foul shots.

      • The defensive and offensive players alternate themselves around the key.

      • Each basket made from a free throw is worth 1 point.

      • If the 2nd free throw goes into the basket the defensive team tosses the ball in from behind their end line.

      • If the 2nd throw misses then both teams try to rebound to gain possession of the ball.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Teaching Tips:

    • This game could also be played successfully on a half-court and involve more people—you could get 20 people on a full court instead of 10.

    • To speed up the game simply award an automatic 2 points for a defensive foul, and then give the defensive team the ball. For a technical foul award 1 point and give the ball at center to the team that took the free throw. On an offensive foul, the defensive team gets the ball out on the side where the foul took place
