Squashed Soccer (or small room soccer)

-Objective:

Heading 1

To score more goals than the other team.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor

    • Dodge

    • Run 

  • Manipulative Send

    • Kick

    • Throw​

  • Manipulative Receive​

    • Block 

    • Catch​

  • Manipulative Retain​

    • Bounce​

    • Dribble

-Equipment List:

  • For games of 4-6 players (2-3 per side):

    • Two foldable gymnastic mats​

    • One foam or indoor soccer ball

-Setting Up:

  • Divide players into two teams. 

  • Each team defines a goalie who can use hands when within one pace of the goal

  • Place a gymnastic mat on end to form a goal.

  • Have a drop ball at centre to being the game

-Instructions:

  • Played like regular soccer except

    • A player can only contact the ball with her hands when she is in goal.

    • All penalties (hand ball, rough play, holding, tripping....) will result in an indirect free-kick (must be contacted by a second player before the goal counts).
