To stay on the Simple Step Balance Beam longer than your opponent.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor

  • Balance

-Equipment List:

  • One Simple Step Balance Beam

  • Lots of mattresses and foam pieces

  • Two pool noodles


-Equipment Link:

-Setting Up:

  • On top of some mattresses and foam pieces place a Simple Step Balance Beam.

  • Give each player a pool noodle.


  • Players begin on either side of the Balance Beam.

  • They meet in the middle and attempt to push each other off the Balance Beam.

  • Be sure playing area is safe when players fall off the Balance Beam.

  • Questions for Understanding:

  • What tactics lead to most success?

  • What does it feel like to fall off first/stay on longest?
