-Setting Up:

  • Players are formed into groups of three to four players per team.

  • One player stands on the end of the playing area.

  • The other players stand at the other end.

  • Two buckets of clothes pegs are placed midway between the two end lines.

-Instructions:

  • On the signal to begin, players find someone to play (usually not from their own team).

  • They compete in a game of rock, paper, scissors (rock smashes scissors, scissors cuts paper, and paper covers rock).

  • When players win they run to the clothes pegs bucket, select a clothes peg, run to their player, attach the clothes peg to their clothes, and then run back to compete again.

  • When time is up (or most of the clothes pegs are gone) players count the clothes pegs on their porcupine.

  • The team with the most clothes pegs is the winner.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Variation:

    • If you have different coloured clothes pegs than, as a surprise at the end of the game, assign different values to different colours and build in numeracy :)

  • Question for understanding:

    • Are their strategies you use for which throw to select?
