For two players to attempt to catch as many balls in a row as possible.
-Fundamental Movement Skills:
One ball per two players.
Two players stand back to back.
One player holds a ball.
The player with the ball tosses it over the two players heads and the other player attempts to catch the ball.
Count how many consecutive catches can be made.
-Questions & Notes:
Main point of this activity is to teach the importance of tracking a ball in flight.
Players can only look forward (not up)--very difficult to succeed at.
Players try for speed--Count how many catches can be made in a specified time.
Questions for Understanding:
Is it easier to catch the ball with eyes looking forward or up? Why?
How does catching for speed effect catching ability? Why?
