-Objective:

Too determine how quickly a player can complete a course while dribbling one ball with the hands and another with feet.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Manipulative Retain

  • Bounce

  • Dribble

-Equipment List:

  • One basketball and one soccer ball per groups of two.

  • Four pylons or cones per groups of two.

-Setting Up:

  • Set up four spots/cones two to four steps apart in a line.

  • A player stands behind the first spot/cone holding a basketball and having a soccer ball at their feet.

-Instructions:

  • On the signal to go, a player attempts to dribble a soccer ball and a basketball around four spots/cones and back to the first spot/cone as quickly as possible.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Questions for Understanding:

    • How can a player best complete two tasks at the same time?

    • How does it feel to be able to, or have difficulty doing, two things at a time?

    • What might this activity teach us about focus in life?
