Omnikin Two Ball Pass

-Objective:

Heading 1

To determine how many times the balls can be passed from one player to another in one-minute.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Manipulative Retain

  • Catch

  • Throw

-Equipment List:

  • Two Omnikin balls per pair of players (or other balls will do)

-Setting Up:

  • Each pair of players stands facing each other about 2-3 paces apart.

  • Pairs of players are located in a scattered position in playing area

  • Each player is given one Omnikin ball

-Instructions:

  • On the leader's signal to begin the players attempt to determine how many consecutive times they can pass two balls to each other--one ball going high and the other going low.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Questions for Understanding:

  • Try always passing the same way--one player tosses low ball, other player tosses high ball. Is one easier than the other? Why? How can you improve the weaker way?

  • Try always passing the same way but opposite to above. way. Is one easier than the other? Why? How can you improve the weaker way?

  • Try it with smaller balls. How does the size of ball influence success? Why?
