-Setting Up:

  • A server and a receiver are on the court in a single’s position.

  • The remaining players line-up behind the court.

-Instructions:

  • Use regular rules except that once a players hit the ball they must exit the court on their right side and go to the opposite court.

  • The serving side should begin with the server and at least 2 people waiting on the endline to come onto the court.

  • The other side should have a receiver and at least 1 player waiting on the endline to come onto the court.

  • Players rotate counter-clockwise and try to maintain a rally as long as possible.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Safety considerations:

    • Make sure there is not debris (extra balls or clothing items) laying around that might cause a player to slip when running to the other side of the court.

  • Instructional tips:

    • The higher the bird the more time team mates have time to get onto the court and play a successful return shot.

  • As a cool-down:

    • Works well as a cool-down.

    • Using more players than 5 will slow the pace down if going with 5 is too vigorous.
