Dice Tag—Odd or Even

-Objective:

Be the first to answer the question correctly and tag your partner.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Locomotor

  • Run

-Equipment List:

  • Two large die or one small dice per player.

  • One pool noodle per pair of players.

-Setting Up:

  • Players stand opposite each other over a centre line.

  • Create another line about three paces back from each player (A volleyball court works well with the centre line and two attack lines as the back line).

-Instructions:

  • The large dice are rolled in a place where all can see (or two players can each roll their own small dice).

  • If the number is odd, one side runs behind the back line before their partners can pick up their noodle and tag them (If the partner is successful in tagging the tagged person does five jumping jacks; if the partner is unsuccessful in tagging that player does five jumping jacks).

-Questions & Notes:

  • Safety:

    • No running backwards in case a player falls backwards and gets a concussion. Players should stand sideways at the beginning.

  • Variations:True/False Review:

    • Do not use dice but have one side be True and the other side be False.

    • Could ask questions in different areas of study like math, novel studies, geography, biology…

    • South Pole:Numbers are underneath for example (each number adds up to 7):

      • 1 = 6

      • 2 = 5

      • 3 = 4

      • 4 = 3

      • 5 = 2

      • 6 = 1
