-Setting Up:

  • Determine an area that allows all the players (Groups of about 5-10 players) to jog in a circle with three to four paces between them.

  • Mark off the area with four cones.

  • Players stand in a circle approximately three-behind the players in front of them, facing counterclockwise. If the players are too close, then make the area larger. If the players are too far apart, make the area smaller. If you have too many players, make another area inside the first area.

  • Give each player a stability ball.

-Instructions:

  • At your signal to begin, players jog around the designated area, carrying their stability balls.

  • When you call out, “Now!” the players toss their balls straight up into the air, but keep running so that the balls land in front of the players running behind them.

  • Players allow the balls to bounce only once before catching them.

  • Players continue jogging and the process continues each time you call out, “Now!”

-Questions & Notes:

  • Tips and Variations

  • Double Jog Toss:

  • Played the same as Jog Toss except that when a ball is tossed, the player two people behind the thrower is the one to catch the ball.

  • Players will need to move quickly and exercise caution as they dodge the balls thrown by the players immediately in front of them.

  • No-Bounce Jog Toss:

  • Played the same as Jog Toss except that players must catch the ball in the air without letting it bounce.

  • Be sure to use smaller balls for this version.

  • For safety reasons remind players to keep their eyes on the balls they are catching so they do not get hit by a ball and possibly get injured. Fun chaos results.
