Seated Bounces

-Objective:

Heading 1

For two players to see how many consecutive bounce passes they can make in a set amount of time. Oe how far apart they can sit and complete one, two, three... bounces.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Manipulative Send

    • Throw

  • Manipulative Receive​

    • Catch​

-Equipment List:

  • Three stability balls per pair of players

-Setting Up:

  • Each payer sits on a stability ball opposite each other approximately 3 to 4 yards or meters away. One player holds another stability ball.

-Instructions:

  • On your signal to begin, players begin passing the ball back and forth to each other using one bounce and counting each catch.

  • Pairs try to get as many catches as they can in the set amount of time.

  • Players switch positions and roles and try again

  • Or try to move further apart and get one, two, three... four bounces.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Distant Seated Bounces: Played the same as Seated Bounces except that players are farther apart and use a larger ball. You could also make two (or more) bounces mandatory for each throw.

  • No-Bounce Seats: Played the same as Seated Bounces except that players cannot let the ball hit the floor.
