-Setting Up:

  • Explain to the students that in one frame of bowling a five-pin bowler gets three throws to knock all the pins down. In ten-pin bowling the bowler gets two throws per frame. If all the balls are knocked down before the second or third throw the bowler does not bowl another ball in that frame.

  • One game of bowling involves 10 frames. Most bowling alleys have automatic scoring so I will not explain scoring here.

  • The object is to knock down as many pins as possible and score the most points.

  • Typically, participants bowl with their dominant hand, efficiently delivering the ball. With JJ Crazy Bowling the great bowler is equalized with the novice bowler because of the way the ball must be thrown each frame. The changes will lower everyone’s scores but add a lot of laughter to the event.

  • Actions to use in each frame:

    • Frame 1: Throw the ball forward through the legs

    • Frame 2: Hop to the line on the left foot

    • Frame 3: Lay on the floor and push the ball with the hands

    • Frame 4: Hop to the line on two feet

    • Frame 5: Throw the ball with the left hand

    • Frame 6: Throw the ball with the right hand

    • Frame 7: Throw the ball blindfolded—a partner can help

    • Frame 8: Throw the ball backward through the legs

    • Frame 9: Lay on the floor and push the ball with the feet

    • Frame 10: Roll the ball using the bottom of your foot to roll it
