Tic Tac Toe Lay Ups

For a player to get three in a row in Tic Tac Toe before the other player does

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

-Equipment List:

  • Per game of two players

    • One basketball each​

    • Two sets of four different coloured poly spots

    • Nine other polyl spots, different colour from the above spots

-Setting Up:

  • Place the nine poly spots in a 3 by 3 grid (one to two paces apart) at the foul shooting line.

  • Each player has a ball and is standing at the elbow of the key at the foul line.

  • Each player has a pile of their four poly spots at the elbow of the key on the baseline.

-Instructions:

  • On the signal to begin each player dribbles in for a layup.

    • If the layup is unsuccessful that player retrieves their ball and attempts to shot a basket.​

    • When the basket is successful that player picks up one of their four poly spots and places it one one of the nine poly spots.

    • Players continue adding their four poly spots until one of the players gets three in a row.​

    • If no player has three in a row when all four poly spots have been placed the next time that player can move one of his poly spots to the open space in an attempt to get three in a row.

    • Once one player has three in a row, that player is the winner.

  • Play again​
