-Objective:

Heading 1

To score more goals, by kicking the ball against one of the opponent’s pylons, than the opponent.

-Fundamental Movement Skills:

  • Manipulative Send

    • Kick​

  • Manipulative Receive

    • Trap​

  • Manipulative Retain​

    • Dribble​

-Equipment List:

  • One soccer ball and four pylons for two teams of two to three players each.

2-Cone Ball

-Equipment Link:

-Setting Up:

  • Set up 2 pylons (or 3 or 4 pylons) 3 steps apart (like a goal), 10 paces apart from each other at either end of a playing field (perhaps 20 paces long)

  • Teams line up on their goal line, one team has the ball

-Instructions:

  • One player begins with the ball and attempts to dribble or pass by her opponent and kick the ball against one of her opponent’s pylons.

  • The other player tries to prevent her from doing so and instead tries to intercept the ball and kick the ball against one of her opponent’s pylons.

  • Once a goal has been scored teams line up as on either goal line again and the scored on team has the ball

-Questions & Notes:

  • Variation:

    • Triple-cone Ball (or Four-cone)

      • Played the same way as 2-Cone Ball but with 3 players and 6 cones located in a triangular shape.
