-Setting Up:
Place participants on the court as indicated on the illustration.
Give player number 1 the ball.
-Instructions:
-
Player number 1 passes the ball to player number 3 who passes to player number 5 who passes to player number 7 who passes to player number 9, and so on.
-
Once a player has passed the ball she must take the position of the player ahead of her. In other words player number 1 passes the ball and then stands where number 2 is, player number 3 passes the ball and goes where player number 4 is. In the meantime, player number 12 moves to the spot vacated by number 1 and will be the next player in that position to pass the ball, player number 2 moves to the spot vacated by number 3 and will be the next player in that position to pass the ball.
-
Count how many consecutive times the ball can be successfully passed through the six-pass rotation.
-Questions & Notes:
-
Safety considerations:
-
After players have passed the ball over the net they should go around the post, not under the net, to move to their new position at the end of the court. Be sure posts are properly padded.

Instructional tips:
-
All players require good passing skills for this activity to work successfully. If you have more than 12 players add players at the various positions (this makes the game a little easier since players do not have to move to their new position as quickly).

-
Variation:
-
Two-ball Continuous Pass: Start with a ball in either corner (player numbers 1 and 7). The 2 starting players begin their pass at the same time. This game is much more demanding and requires skilled players.

-
As a cool-down:
-
Works wonderfully but limit the challenge to 1 ball and have the group successfully go around the complete rotation 6 times.
