  • Each player has a badminton racquet, 1 bird per pair of players

-Setting Up:

  • Two players stand on opposite sides of the net at approximately mid-court.

-Instructions:

  • A player with the bird drives (low, flat, hard shot) the bird to her partner on the opposite side of the net.

  • Her partner returns the shot with a drive shot.

  • Players try to see how long they can continue hitting drive shots at each other.

-Questions & Notes:

  • Instructional tips:

    • Start players with hitting forehand to forehand, then backhand to backhand, then mixing it up.

  • Variations:

    • Four-Wheel Driving:

      • Have 4 players on the court, 2 on each side.

      • One doubles team begins and hits all their drives cross-court.

      • The other team responds with driving all the birds down the line.

      • Alternate so that each team has opportunity to hit drives cross-court and straight.

  • As a cool-down:

    • This activity is too stressful to use as a cool-down.
