-Equipment List:
-
One complete set of FoodGroup Flags—change the Junk Food to another Grain
-
Four PolySpots or other markers
-Equipment Link:
-Setting Up:
-
Place 4 PolySpots in four corners (like a baseball diamond—increasing the distance between these PolySpots increases the activity level and time it takes to complete the game, decreasing the distance decreases the activity level and time it takes to complete the game).
-
Assign one PolySpot as the Barn.
-
All players begin at the barn in teams of 3-6 players (the more players per team the quicker the game goes, the fewer players per team the longer the game goes).
-Instructions:
-
On the leader’s signal to begin, players pair up with players from other teams and play a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors (Rock (fist) smashes Scissors (two fingers in scissors shape), Scissors cuts Paper (flat hand), and Paper covers Rock).
-
The player that wins then runs to the corner of the farm on the right (like first base in baseball). The player that does not win stays at the barn.
-
Players, win or lose, then play another player (preferably someone from another team) at their new farm corner. If a player wins at the first corner that player runs to the second corner (base) and the player that does not win goes back to the barn.
-
Players at the second corner play someone there (preferably someone from another team) and the winner then goes to the third corner, and the one that does not win returns to the first corner.
-
Players at the third corner play someone there (preferably someone from another team) and the winner then goes to the barn, and the one that does not win returns to the second corner.
-
The players that go to the barn pick up a FoodGroup Flag on the way to the barn. Those players continue to play and if those players win their next game they again go to the first corner, and if they do not win they do not go back to the third corner but simply play another game in an effort to get around the four corners of the barn again and pick up another FoodGroup Flag for their team as the team tries to collect one of each food group.
Variations
-
Increasing the number of teammates increase the speed the game is completed; decreasing the number of teammates increases the time it takes to complete the game.
-Questions & Notes:
