-Equipment List:

  • For 4 pairs of players have:

    • Two cricket wickets(could use two pylons),

    • Two cricket bats (could use two bats or pool noodles)

    • One coated foam ball.

-Equipment Link:

-Setting Up:

  • Place the two wickets in the middle of the playing area about 20 paces apart (closer for less skilled players).

  • A pair of players stand in front and to tbe side of the wicket(one player in front of each wicket) each holding a bat.

  • Another pair of players (bowlers) stand behind each wicket--one bowler holds the ball.

  • The other three pairs position themselves in a scattered position throughout the playing area.

  • The bowler bowls the ball to the batter--alternate bowlers each at bat

  • The batter hits the ball in any direction in the field of play.

  • The two batters then switch places as often as they can (touching their bat before the wicket to score a run) before the ball is received by one of the bowlers who tags the wicket with the ball (if both players have their bats on the ground just in front of the wicket the batters are safe and runs made are added to their score).

  • Batters are out if:

  • The ball goes past the batter and hits the wickets.

  • The ball is caught in the air (therefore it is best to hit the ball in a downward direction).

  • A runner does not have his bat on the ground before a wicket and one of the bowlers is tagging the wicket with the ball.

  • When a runner is out the pair becomes fielders, the bowlers become batters, and two fielders become bowlers.

-Questions & Notes:
