-Setting Up:
-
A baseball diamond—bases 30 yards (26 meters) apart
-
On a baseball diamond, set up a defensive alignment consisting of a back catcher, a pitcher, players on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, a shortstop playing between 2nd and 3rd, and 4 out fielders.
-
Line up the offensive team behind the back-stop in the order they will be hitting the ball. The batting order is maintained throughout the game.
-Instructions:
-
Each team gets 10 batters which each have one at bat. When 10 batters have been up, teams switch regardless of how many are out.
-
The pitcher announces that the batter is the final batter of the inning. To stop all runners from scoring the fielding team must throw the ball home.
-
If the last runner hits a pop fly, the runners may still tag and run, and all runs score until the ball is at home plate. Whoever has the most runs at the end of 4 innings is the winner.
-
Other rules are the same as in 3-pitch.
-
Teams provide their own pitcher who pitches a maximum of 3 pitches to each player.
-
Runners cannot run till a ball is hit.
